Journey To A Positive Life One Journal At A Time

In today’s post I wanted to talk to you about positivity and the 5 Minute Journal. I am a big believer that with a positive mindset you can accomplish anything your heart desires. But let’s be real saying we’re going to be positive and actually being positive are two different things. We all know that gratefulness = a positive mindset, but it can be hard sometimes to remember to just sit still and reflect on everything we’re so blessed to have. That’s were the 5 Minute Journal comes into play!


I first discovered the 5 Minute Journal after watching a video from Alex Ikonn, who also happens to be the creator of this journal along with his good friend Uj Ramdas. It was around the end of 2014, I think, and I had just discovered Alex and Mimi’s channels and I remember just being instantly drawn to their positivity and attitude towards life. It was so refreshing to see two people who were so full of passion and motivation to change the world through their work. One of the videos I watched of theirs happened to mention the 5 Minute Journal and as you can probably guess I was quick to jump online to see where I could purchase the journal for myself.

I first started using the 5 Minute Journal in January 2015 {it was actually my new years resolution} and I haven’t stopped since. What makes it so special for me is it’s a way I can spend 5 minutes every morning and every night to reflect on all the wonderful people, opportunities, things and memories I’m blessed to have in my life. I think it’s really important for all of us to have a way to show our gratitude because only when we are grateful for what we already have can we be ready for even more amazing things to enter our life.

Every morning you fill out the date, list 3 things your grateful for, 3 things you can do to make that day great and add a daily affirmation.


Every night you list 3 amazing things that happened that day and write a few ways you think you could have made the day even better.

It’s as simple as that so you can’t make any excuses about how you don’t have enough time or your too busy.

Everything on the app is exactly the same as the physical book except for the added feature of being able to add photos to your journal in the app. Which I think is such a cute idea and really adds such a special touch. Option Four: Create your own 5 Minute Journal. Like Alex mentioned in one of his vlogs it’s important to just start. If that means going to Target or Officeworks, buying a $2 dollar notebook and writing out the journal pages into that then by all means do that. What’s most important is your taking action to change your mindset and your life. I personally did this myself when I first started doing the 5 Minute Journal and I’m so glad I did because if I had waited until I could afford to buy it I never would be were I am today.
