Hello my beautiful readers,
How are you all doing? For today I wanted to share with you a few of the books I plan on reading this month…and next month as well technically since we are a few days away from getting into July. I still can’t believe how fast June has gone by!
I don’t want to make this post to long to read so I’m gonna get straight into my list of “To Read Books”!
EGO IS THE ENEMY – RYAN HOLIDAY
The first book I am reading, well listening to is Ego Is The Enemy by Ryan Holiday. I would have had no idea about this book if it wasn’t for Alex Ikonn, which if you don’t know who that is definitely check him out I’ll link his social media accounts below. He’s always reading the most interesting books so I always make sure to check out books he mentions or recommends. As I mentioned before I am listening to the audio-book version of Ego is Enemy, I am only 20 minutes in as I write this, and so far I’m really liking it. I’m still really early into the book, it’s a 7 hour listen, so I haven’t really made up my opinions on it just yet but as soon as I finish the book I’ll definitely put up a book review on here letting you know my thoughts on it.

IMPROVISATION FOR THE THEATER – VIOLA SPOLIN
Acting has always been something I have been really passionate about and I really wanted to learn more about it. After searching online and going through hundreds of acting books, I was really spoiled for choice, I ended up choosing Improvisation For The Theater by Viola Spolin. I’ve heard really great things about this book plus it’s been featured on a lot of “Books every actor/actress should read” lists. So I thought why not give it a whirl also improvisation has always been something that has really fascinated me a lot.
Here’s a clip taken from the documentary Improv Legends which explores the work of Viola Spolin…
THE FILMMAKER’S HANDBOOK -STEVEN ASCHER AND EDWARD PINCUS
I have been interested in film making for as long as I can remember. I’ve been studying it for a while now and I really wanted to find a great book that can give me more insight into film making. This one came highly recommended by so many people and has been refereed to by many as the filmmaker’s bible. I’m really looking forward to reading this book, I have a feeling I’m gonna love it!
Those are all the books I plan on reading these next few weeks. I hope I’ve encouraged at least one of you to give these books a try. If these books aren’t really your taste then feel free to let me know in the comments what books you plan on or are currently reading, I’d love to hear from you. 🙂
I’ll talk to you all in my next post!
